Kindergarten applications are accepted the school year prior to the year a child is eligible to attend. We are currently accepting 2017-18 Kindergarten Applications. Children must turn 5 years of age by September 30, 2018 in order to be eligible to apply. Proof of Residency (a current utility bill) MUST accompany the application in order to be considered. Kindergarten Applications must be received by FRIDAY, MARCH 23rd at noon. The Kindergarten Draw will be held in early April and parents will be notified of results via email and USPS by April 15, 2018.
Applications for enrollment at NSU Elementary Lab are accepted year-round. Your child will be placed on a waiting list for their current grade level. You will be notified via telephone if a position becomes available for your child. Please be certain to attach recent test scores and/or report cards, as well as documentation to verify your address, such as a utility bill. A working phone number must be included with the application.
While you do not need to complete a new application each year, we do ask that you update your application at the end of each school year with your child’s most current information, including their report card and test scores. Applications that have not been updated, or incomplete applications may not be given consideration. We have limited enrollment, with 2 sections per grade, grades K – 5. Our small population necessitates a waiting list for each grade.
TUITION & FEES
Tuition for 2017-18 is $1875, payable to Northwestern State University and is to be paid in full by April 29th of the current school year. Additional siblings are granted a reduced tuition amount of $1375 per year. A yearly supply fee of $100 is due at enrollment, and paid to NSU Elementary Lab. This supply fee pays for all of the student’s school, technology and art supplies for the entire school year.
Applicants with priority status are selected for enrollment first. The priority order is: (1) a child of a NSU Lab School faculty member; (2) a child with at least one parent employed full-time at NSU or LSMSA; (3) a child with sibling(s) currently attending an NSU Lab School, and (4) a child who attend the Marie Shaw Dunn Child Development Center (CDC) the year prior to kindergarten enrollment.
